The Department of Natural Resources has issued the City of Lake Waukomis a violation for not collecting the correct number of routine water samples in December of 2023. Currently the City has been collecting two (2) routine water samples per month however, only one (1) routine water sample out of the two (2) collected in December of 2023 arrived at the State Health Laboratory for testing. Please be assured that the one (1) routine water sample that arrived for testing in December of 2023 posed no threat to the drinking water system. The City of Lake Waukomis apologizes for not being able to correct the mistake to avoid the violation. To ensure this violation never happens again, all collected routine water samples submitted to the State Health Laboratory will be verified through the Drinking Water Watch via the Department of Natural Resources website.
