The City of Lake Waukomis and the Home Owners Association have joined with the Platte County Sherriff Department to use “TEXT CASTER” as the primary way to inform Residents of all types of events, both emergency and civic information about Lake Waukomis. We will no longer be using Nixle.
In signing up for “Text Caster” you have a choice of whether to receive the notices via email, Text Message, or both! The notices will include notifications from the National Weather Service, the Platte County Sherriff Department as well as the City and HOA.
When signing up, be sure and check that you want to receive the notice’s from Lake Waukomis Police, which is Platte County Sheriff, as well as civic events of the HOA as well as City road, water and/or sewer issues. You can scroll through the list of communities and other HOA’s and click as many as you like.
To sign up for “Text Caster”, use your computer or cell phone, and browse to Plattesheriff.org.
At the top of the page you will see a line of words just to the right of the Platte County Sheriff banner, click on the word Services.
A drop down window will appear and then click on Platte County Connection.
Then scroll down the page and click on Sign-Up Now and complete the form. There are several steps to complete the sign up.
